BTS Arts Employment Opportunities

The mission of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program is to increase the quality and quantity of arts education for elementary students and teachers by providing funding to hire licensed arts educators, arts instructional coaches and professional development providers to provide arts instruction and arts  integrated instruction as well as to coordinate arts programming in schools and districts.

Elementary Arts Endowed Chairs – Instructor of the Practice or Assistant Professor of Education (Utah Tech University)

  • Description: The Department of Education at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time, professional-track Instructor of the Practice or tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with an emphasis in Elementary Arts, to begin either January 1 or July 1, 2023. The Education Department prepares its students to be outstanding teachers within diverse and changing communities through the integration of leadership, scholarship, reflection, and community partnerships.   • Qualifications:
    • Terminal degree preferred; Master’s degree with significant professional accomplishment or national board certification considered. Non-MFA master’s degrees do not qualify for tenure-track status but will be considered and could be hired on a professional-track contract.
    • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the University and public/private elementary school levels.
    • Specialty in at least one area of the arts disciplines (Visual Arts, Music, Drama/Theatre, Dance-Movement).
    • Demonstrated leadership in arts education.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with students, faculty, and administration.
    • Preference for candidates with strong technological skills, including those associated with online and computer-enhanced instructional methods.

BTS Arts Teacher (Music, Dance, or Visual Art)

  • Job Title: Certified elementary art education teacher
  • Walden School of Liberal Arts is looking for a certified elementary art education teacher for about 10 to 12 hours of work each week. This person will teach art to students and collaborate with elementary teachers to integrate art into daily curriculum through project-based learning. We are seeking teachers with an expertise in visual arts, but are open to other possibilities.

BTS Arts Teacher (Music, Dance, Drama or Visual Art)

  • Job Title: BTSALP Art Specialist Teacher
  • Description: Under the direction of the school principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens.  Teachers maintain a safe environment; establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education and do so in accordance with each student’s ability.   Teachers differentiate curriculum and use effective research-based methods of instruction. Implement Proficiency-Based Grading in Student Evaluations.
