BTS Arts teacher, Lisa Stewart is a passionate arts educator who exemplifies all the best parts of arts integration. Her classroom is often filled with students smiling and laughing along with her.
Lisa created a ‘Tall Tales’ lesson for students as a way to visualize the fun and silly stories we are often told. She loved that all the students giggled along with her example and how much fun they had sharing their artwork with the class.
Some of Ms. Stewart’s students are currently working on tiny illuminated houses which has created a fun environment for both engineering and artistry! Lisa is looking forward to beginning a lesson on Cranky Contraptions with the 5th grade students to further develop their engineering skills.
In her free time, she enjoys attending the Cedar City public library’s Character Sketches program where attendees practice themed live model drawing.

Britannia Howe, BTS Professional Development Partner shares,
“Lisa is a gifted artist who cares about the children she teaches. I remember watching her act out the rules of the classroom, she had the entire 3rd grade acting, smiling, and laughing with her. She even makes rule-following fun!”
Students at two Iron County schools, Escalante Valley Elementary and Three Peaks Elementary, are lucky to have Ms. Stewart guide them along their arts journey!
