Dixie State University ARTsmARTs Summer Camp

Did you know many of our university partners offer workshops for children during the summer?  Dixie State University’s ARTsmARTs Arts Camp, reached 56 children in Washington County this summer. This year’s camp participants engaged in creating musical instruments and music, including original compositions with Sherri Behunin, BTS Music Educator. They created sculptures of imaginary pets with Kelly McDonald, BTS Visual Art Educator, and participated in a wide variety of creative movement activities with Courtni Giles, BTS Dance Educator. The camp is under the direction of Jeri Crosby, the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Endowed Chair for Elementary Arts Education at DSU, and it is funded through an endowment from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation.
