Sunrise Elementary students combine learning and creativity to create a mosaic of Utah

BTS Arts helped make a dream of Lori Pomeroy’s, BTS Visual Artist, come true. Lori was able to work with her students to make a beautiful mosaic for their school. All 800 students at Sunrise Elementary learned about the habitats and Biomes of Utah, drew the design and created a stunning glass mosaic. 

Lori said, “the students are so proud of their efforts. The grant promoted learning in a wonderful way.” The mosaic is now a permanent art piece at Sunrise Elementary. Lori and the students are grateful to the BTS grant. And, who knows how many of these students will not be afraid to go on to tile their own bathrooms someday saving them thousands of dollars. They really learned some good technical skills in doing this project.”
