WSU’s Hello Little Honey Bee Children’s Book
Weber State University students in HNRS 3900: Children’s Literature: Book Arts & Science (Spring 2022) worked together to create an original children’s book – Hello Little Honey Bee from A to Z. The WSU Arts Learning Collaborative also created a video reading of the book in English and Spanish. The video features WSU Associate Professor of Spanish, Diego Batista as the Bee Keeper, and Annie Batista as Little Honey Bee. Check out this fun video!

The Arts Learning Collaborative recently shared this resource with over 100 educators from across the state as part of our latest webinar Honey Bee A to Z on April 20. This webinar was a collaboration with Southern Utah University as part of The Science Around Us Arts Integration Webinar Series and featured the following presenters: Amy Miner, Adam Johnston, Alisa Petersen, Samantha Steffan, Alisa Petersen, and Kelly Bruce Glynn.
Amy Miner (In Focus Education) helped make connections to the Utah standards.

Alisa Petersen (Southern Utah University) showed us how to make a Hexagon book!

Adam Johnston (Weber State University) shared the Honeybee Experience & Science – The Bee-Slides

Tamara Goldbogen (Weber State University) showed us how to make a bee puppet!

Samatha Steffan (Weber State University) shared ideas for integrating music and bees!

Alisa Petersen (Southern Utah University) introduced Hand Lettering for Children as an option for populating the hexagon book with bee content.

Kelly Bruce Glynn (Utah State Board of Education) shared connections between bees and dance strategies.
